Metal edging is suited to a wide range of surfacing products, including hot-rolled asphalt, resin-bound gravel, rubberised safety surfaces, loose aggregates such as gravel and chippings, and stone or concrete paving.

Creativity

Metal edging can be easily shaped on-site or pre-formed during manufacture, giving landscapers free rein to express their creativity in combinations of straight lines, sweeping curves and intricate contours.

When installed flush with the path surface, it is almost invisible and won’t detract from the beauty and character of the hard landscaping.

If the edging is designed to be visible, a range of finishes can make the edging blend in or contrast with surrounding hard and soft landscaping features.

  • Untreated aluminium or galvanised steel can be used for a modern or futuristic design
  • The earthy patina of weathering steel will complement natural soft and hard landscaping
  • RAL matched powder coating can be used to blend or create contrast

Durability

Compared with concrete kerbing and timber, metal edging is more resistant to damage caused by machinery, impact, rot and frost.

Aluminium and weathering steel offer excellent corrosion resistance and will be maintenance-free for decades, while galvanised and powder-coated steel offer good corrosion resistance.

Installation

Metal edging is 4-5 times faster to install than concrete kerbing, as it doesn’t require a stable concrete base or haunching. Securely fixed in place with metal stakes it is immediately ready for backfilling and surfacing as soon as it has been installed.

Hidden connections between lengths of edging guarantee seamless joints without ugly overlaps, while the lighter weight of metal edging makes installation an easy task.
