Resin-based surfaces are rapidly becoming a popular choice for drives, paths and patio areas, offering the pleasing appearance of loose gravel without the noise, mess and maintenance. Surfaces may be resin-bound (where the gravel is mixed with resin before it is laid) and resin bonded (where the gravel is applied on top of a thin layer of resin).
Metal edging systems are the perfect choice for resin-based surfaces as they create a seamless, precise border that the resin can be hot-laid up to. They are also 4-5 times faster to lay than concrete as they don’t require a flat base for laying onto or concrete haunching for stability.
Measuring only a few millimetres thick, metal edging is the best option for discreet flush fitting and for creating almost invisible borders between contrasting areas of resin surface.
If a visible raised edge is required, the galvanised steel or mill-finish aluminium surface of metal edging provides an understated, neutral tone.
Metal edging is resistant to damage during storage, transportation, movement around the site or installation. Unlike concrete, it won’t crack if exposed to frost and won’t rot like timber edging.
Metal edging systems can be easily formed on-site or during manufacture to create sweeping curves or intricate shapes, yet remain rigid enough to maintain straight lines.

They are also lightweight and can be easily carried and laid by one person. Joins between lengths of edging are almost invisible and without ugly overlaps, and as they are fastened to the ground with metal spikes, resin surfaces can be laid up to them as soon as the edging is fixed in place.
Heavy-duty Steel Kerb
Bison is a heavy-duty edging system that still has sufficient flexibility to be formed into curves, making it the perfect choice for heavier traffic areas.
Supplied in a galvanised finish for corrosion resistance, Bison features a 7mm thick rolled top edge for safety and is manufactured in three heights (75mm, 100mm and 150mm).
Aluminium Landscape Edging
Suitable for lighter-duty flush fitting, AluExcel offers the added corrosion resistance of aluminium. This is particularly important in recreational areas where corroded steel could be a health and safety risk, and in coastal areas where the air has a higher saline content.
AluExcel is manufactured in six thicknesses ranging from 5mm to 8.5mm and ten heights ranging from 15mm to 150mm and is supplied in a natural mill finish as standard.
